What Is the Body Code?

Updated: Aug 13

An introduction to a holistic approach to wellbeing.

If you've recently come across the Body Code®, you may be wondering what it actually is.

Is it a type of energy healing? A health system? A way of understanding the body?

The answer is that it's a little different from all of those.

The Body Code, developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, is a holistic system that provides practitioners with a structured method for identifying different types of imbalances within the Body Code framework. Rather than looking at just one aspect of a person's wellbeing, it encourages us to view the body as an interconnected system, where many different factors may contribute to how someone feels.

One of the things I appreciate most about the Body Code is that no two sessions are exactly alike. Every person has their own story, experiences and priorities, which means every session unfolds differently.

Looking Beyond Symptoms

When we don't feel our best, it's natural to focus on the symptom that's bothering us most.

The Body Code takes a broader approach.

Instead of assuming where to begin, it follows a structured questioning process to identify what is considered the highest priority to explore within the Body Code framework at that time.

This means that two people experiencing similar symptoms may have completely different findings during their sessions.

What Types of Imbalances Can Be Explored?

The Body Code organizes different areas of wellbeing into six broad categories.

These include:

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Energetic balance

  • Structural balance

  • Nutrition and lifestyle

  • Toxins

  • Pathogens

Within these categories are many different areas that may be explored during a session, including trapped emotions, meridians, structural imbalances, organs, glands and nutritional factors.

Each session follows its own path depending on what is identified through the Body Code process.

Every Session Is Personal

One of the questions I'm often asked is:

"Will my session be the same as someone else's?"

The simple answer is no.

Even if two people come with similar concerns, their sessions may identify very different priorities.

That's one of the reasons I love working with the Body Code. It reminds us that every person is unique.

What Happens During a Body Code Session?

Whether your session is held remotely or in person, the process follows the same structured framework.

I'll begin by focusing on your main concern and then work through the session step by step, identifying the priorities that emerge.

After the session, you'll receive a detailed report explaining the findings and the areas that were addressed.

Learning Together

One of the reasons I created this blog is to help make the Body Code easier to understand.

Over the coming months, I'll be exploring topics such as:

  • Trapped Emotions

  • Heart Walls

  • Meridians and Energy Pathways

  • Broadcast Messages

  • Structural Balance

  • And many other concepts within the Body Code framework.

My hope is that these articles help you feel informed, curious and confident as you learn more about this fascinating approach to wellbeing.

Thank you for joining me on the journey.

Warm wishes,
